Review: ExOfficio Amphib Pant

These pants live up to their name. It’s like I was wearing a long legged swimsuit. With a built in liner and mesh pocket and vents it drains and dries quickly. The liner is very comfortable and can be worn while hiking many miles. The long legs are great for protecting your legs when thrashing through unknown (read: potentially poisonous) vegetation. It’s also great sun protection and very comfortable when in hot environments where shorts are culturally frowned upon.

The only problem I’ve noticed is the flat, low profile buckle sometimes gets tapped by the waist-strap of my backpack and comes undone. With the elastic nature of the built in liner, it’s not a problem of the pants totally falling down while hiking or when taking the pack off. So, really, a minor inconvenience, not anything that keeps the pants from working as needed.
